The Convolvulus hawkmoth has been at the top of my wish list for years. A rare and spectacular immigrant moth, it turns up infrequently on our shores. I have never caught one before. They are known to be attracted to the scent of Nicotiana flowers and so I grew hundreds of these plants, starting from seed in March 2026! The bank of flowers produces a very strong scent in the evenings and it was right next to these plants that this wonderful moth appeared on Friday night. Very satisfying when a plan works out!
